Carl Anderson – Owner Professional Engineer/Estimator
Carl is a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Iowa and also holds a Masters License in the State of Iowa for Plumbing, HVAC, Hydronics and Refrigeration. He has extensive background in the fields of HVAC, hydronics, plumbing and industrial exhaust systems. He has been in the design of office, ethanol plants, hospital, nursing homes, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and food processing facilities. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Plumbing Engineers and various State and local organizations. Carl is married to Margaret Anderson and has two children Sarah and Tyson along with three grandsons.

Jonathan Carson – President Project Manager/Estimator
Jonathan is a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelors degree in Horticulture with emphasis in turf grass management. He is the son-in-law of Carl Anderson, owner. It took a lot of convincing but Jonathan left his Jack Nicholas Signature golf course in Lake Tahoe to start a career in the family HVAC business. He joined Mechanical Air Systems in January of 2007. Understanding the importance of family it became an easy decision. Jonathan tutored with Carl for three years and attended many schools and seminars to become up to pace with the HVAC world. Jonathan was able to show that his project managing skills were a great fit for the company and were not only successful with our field men but also with our customers and clients. He is learning what it takes to stay in business in today’s tough economy and becoming familiar with what it takes to have a successful business. Jonathan is learning that it is a competitive industry and balancing that with a family business is his top priority. He and Sarah live in Mason City with their three sons.

Sarah Carson – Vice President
Sarah Carson, the daughter of Carl and Margaret Anderson, joined the company for the last time in 2006. She had worked for the company off and on thru high school and college. Finalizing her career path she and her husband Jonathan Carson moved back to Mason City from Lake Tahoe to join the family business. With an accounting and property management background she contributes her time working in the accounting department as the accounts payable manager, bookkeeping and assisting with customer service. After welcoming her third son in November she is happy to be back closer to her family. She is looking forward to a fun filled future with the family business.

Milo Risvold – Service Manager/Estimator
Milo started with Mechanical Air Systems in 1984 as a service technician. He worked with all types of heating and cooling equipment including boilers, refrigeration, and pneumatics. With all of his knowledge and expertise in the field, in 1997 he came into the office and became the new Service Manager and Estimator. There almost isn’t a system he doesn’t know of in this town! He holds a Masters License for the State of Iowa for Plumbing, HVAC, Hydronics and Refrigeration.

Sue Eastman – Office Manager/HR
Sue Eastman has been with Mechanical Air Systems since 1993. For the last 17 years she has dedicated herself to Bookkeeping and the Human Resources department. She says: “We have drawings for installations our parent company did for Mason City homes in the 1930's. As we update our files, we find many homes, business, and industrial installs were originally done by us in the 50’s, replaced by us in the 70’s or 80’s, and recently upgraded by us again. Not to mention that the customers don’t only just reside in Mason City but all over Northern Iowa too. It’s amazing to work for a business that has a customer list that solid and that wide.” We are happy to have her on board and appreciate her dedication to the company. She resides in Clear Lake with her husband and has 2 sons and 5 grandchildren.

Roger Myer – Shop Foreman/Estimator
Roger Joined Mechanical Air Systems in 2003. He came to us with experience working as a millwright and a welder with Curries Manufacturing. Over the next six years he worked his hardest knowing that the position for Shop Foreman would be coming available. There was never any doubt for us that the job was his, so in January of 2009 he claimed the title that he deserved. Roger is in charge of design and fabrication, sheet metal specialties, safety coordinator, oversees welding and numerous other things. When he is not working, you can most likely find him on the golf course. He resides in Rockwell with his wife and has two children and one grandson.

Emerald Pals – Accounting & Administrative Assistant
Emerald joined Mechanical Air Systems in July of 2009. Although she is a fresh new face to our team she has felt like she has been here for years. She brings to us an enthusiastic personality and possesses excellent customer service. Emerald graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelors degree in business. She is the first person you talk to and the last person you will hear from. Emerald is in charge of the scheduling and dispatching of the service division and then the billing/invoicing after the work is completed. She also is in charge of our weekly and monthly safety meetings along with various other accounting responsibilities. We are happy to have her on board and welcome her to the team.
